I am getting tired of talking about Larry Allen Tavernier or Larry Tavernier, Let's talk about making some good ole Southern Cornbread

Larry, this post is not about you right now. I am gonna try to get my mind off of you for a bit and tell the good folks reading my blog about how to make some good ole Southern Cornbread. Ok, here goes. This is what you will need:

1, A small cast iron skillet
2. 1 cup of white self rising cornmeal. I use Martha White Self-rising Cornmeal.
3. 1 heaping table spoon of self rising flower. I use Martha White Self-rising Flower"
4. 1 egg.
5. Butter Milk. I would get a quart of Dairy Fresh or Borden's.
6. Some bacon grease.
7. An oven that can be preheated to 425 degrees.
8. A mixing bowl.
 9. A spoon to mix the ingredients.

1. Ok... preheat oven to 425 degrees and put the skillet on top of the stove and put a couple of teaspoons of bacon grease in the skillet and get it real hot so that it smokes.

2. Get your mixing bowl and put in 1 full cup of cornmeal, add the heaping tablespoon of self-rising flower, add one egg, add about 1/3 or a quart of butter milk and add about 2 tablespoons of bacon grease to the mixture. Stir real good and then add the contents to the hot skillet on the stove then put it in the oven for about 25-30 Min's until golden brown.

3. When you take it out of the oven. its going to be hot so please be careful!! The cornbread should be turned over on a plate. It's gonna be crisp and with a little crunch. Cut into 8 pieces. Yum Yum!!

4. This cornbread is so good that if Larry was around it would make me wanna pop the crap out of him!! lol... Hope y'all enjoy!! Stay tuned for more good things to eat.
